What is gold-filled?

Unlike plated chain, gold-filled chain is made by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a base metal. This layer is much thicker than the gold in plated or vermeil chains. Due to this thicker layer of metal, the chain is more durable and the gold should not wear off or chip. It and can last many years if cared for and can be gently polished with a soft polish cloth if needed.
